Man arrested in connection with serious assault in Thetford yesterday

Police have questioned a 23-year-old man in connection with a serious assault in Thetford yesterday.

It happened shortly after 9.30am when police were called to the Tesco Express in Norwich Road following reports a man had been injured.

The victim was taken to hospital with face and head injuries and the area was cordoned off until about 2.20pm while officers carried out initial enquiries.

Police later arrested a man on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm. He was questioned at Bury Police Investigation Centre and has been released on bail while enquiries continue.
