Man arrested in connection with Hitcham post office robbery

A man has been arrested in connection with a robbery in Hitcham.

Police were called to the post office, in The Causeway, at about 2.50pm on Thursday, May 16 after a man approached the counter making demands for money.

He left the premises with tobacco but no cash and fled the scene in a car with another person.

No-one was hurt in the incident.

A 30-year-old man was arrested last night on suspicion of robbery and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

He was released pending further enquiries to answer bail on Tuesday, June 11.
