Man arrested in connection with Bury St Edmunds shooting faces no further action

A 20-year-old man from Derbyshire arrested in connection with a shooting in Bury St Edmunds last summer will now face no further action.

Police were called at 6.45pm on Tuesday August 4 to reports that a man had been shot in the stomach.

The 20-year-old man from the Matlock area was arrested on Tuesday January 26 and was one of a number of people arrested during the course of the enquiry.

He has now had his bail cancelled and has been told he faces no further action in relation to this incident.

A trial is currently ongoing at Ipswich Crown Court in relation to those charged in connection with the shooting.
