A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug offences after police uncovered a large cannabis factory in Thetford last night.

Officers seized hundreds of plants and drug paraphernalia from a property in Lime Kiln Lane shortly after 7pm.

They had been carrying out a search under section 19 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984.

They arrested a man on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and took him to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where he remains in custody.

A seal remains in place around the address whilst enquiries continue.
