COMBS Middle School in Stowmarket have won a competition to find the next ‘Mad Green Scientists’.
The contest, lauched on February 29 at the John Peel Centre for Creative Arts, pitted Stowmarket Middle School pupils against those of Combs Middle School to create the most energy efficient solar hot water collector.
On Wednesday, students from Combs Middle School were crowned champions, earning their school £500.
Andrew Stringer, a director at the John Peel Centre, said: “We were blown away by their effort and ingenuity.
“It was difficult for there to be a winner because it really was very close.
“Everyone was very proud of how well they had all done.
“They were brilliant.”
