Lunch served at reserve

VISITORS to Lackford Lakes nature reserve can now eat the ‘mower’.

Suffolk Wildlife Trust reserve’s visitor centre is now selling meat from the Jacob sheep that graze the fields to encourage wild flowers and ground nesting birds.

The proceeds of the sales are split between the grazier, who owns the sheep, and SWT.

Volunteer James Robinson said: “It’s just about the nicest lamb I’ve ever tasted.”

The visitor centre, off the A1101, is open Wednesday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm. Reserve admission is free.
