A police officer told the Bury Free Press that the lorry driver was unable to take a left turn at the bottom of College Street on to Churchgate Street due to a car parked on a double yellow line.

The officer added that the driver chose to go up Hatter Street to free the traffic from College Street but got stuck.

The police then guided the lorry up Hatter Street, across Abbeygate Street, and up High Baxter Street.
