Vintage retro games and toys make spectacular return this Christmas

This Christmas will see a reversal of trends among toy manufacturers as they look to the toy of yesterday instead of creating the toy of tomorrow.

Retro games, toys and consoles have been enjoying a resurgence in recent years but now they are being heavily marketed as Christmas gifts.

Retailers are putting vintage toys for all ages back on the shelves, with many packaged in their original style of box.

Among the toys making a comeback are My Little Pony, Cabbage Patch Dolls, Subbuteo and Care Bears.

The Early Learning Centre, which was owned by Mothercare, has sold these brands of children's toys in previous decades.

The rights were then purchased by The Entertainer when Mothercare went into administration in March of this year.
