Long-service awards for council workers

TWO council workers who have each clocked up 25 years of service were honoured by St Edmundsbury’s mayor in an awards presentation.

Cllr Ian Houlder, Mayor of St Edmundsbury and mayoress, Mrs Houlder joined with family, friends and colleagues, past and present, to celebrate the work of Steve Boor and Frances Herod.

Mr Boor received an architect’s design drawing of the historical core of Bury St Edmunds to thank him for 25 years working as the engineer for St Edmundsbury, looking after highways and engineering services.

Mrs Herod was also presented with an award after 25 years of service as a senior assistant quantity surveyor for the council property services.

She received a cut glass bud vase during the presentation which took place in the Mayor’s Parlour at West Suffolk House, in Bury St Edmunds on November 30.
