FOLLOWING last year’s success, Little Legs for Life held its second annual children’s fund-raising event in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Despite the rain, some 150 children aged 12 and under took part in a sponsored walk or run on Saturday at Moreton Hall Community Centre, Bury St Edmunds.

In addition to the walk and run, other activities were in place to make for a fun-packed day, including a barbecue, T-shirt printing, archery, the Suffolk Smoothie Bike, bouncy castle and a raffle and tombola, with a generous 53 prizes donated. A Zumba class added to the excitement of the day, with children enjoying the popular dance craze.

The event took place in memory of young mum Chloe Gibney who, after organising last year’s first Little Legs for Life event, died from cancer in February this year.

The event raised an estimated £2,000 and organiser Catherine Sheppard said ‘a huge thank you’ to everyone who braved the weather and made the day a success.
