Letterbox set on fire in Bury St Edmunds

Police are appealing for witnesses after a letterbox was set on fire in Bury St Edmunds.

The arson took place between 9pm on Thursday December 25 and 10am on Friday December 26 at an address in Firtree Close.

Tissue paper was placed into the letterbox and set alight, scorching the outside of the door and melting the letterbox.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact PC Jonathan Burke at Bury St Edmunds Police Station on 101 quoting reference BU/14/3791, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
