Lend your VOICE to shape healthcare in West Suffolk

A group which influences the development of NHS services in West Suffolk is recruiting new members.

The West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust’s patient, public and family carer representative group VOICE currently has eight members and is looking for more.

Founded in January 2018, the group supports the development of health services by engaging with the community and obtaining feedback about people’s experiences of care.

Cassia Nice, patient experience lead at the trust, said: “We are so lucky to have a really engaged community in Suffolk who care about their local NHS.

“We welcome applications from individuals who are keen to get involved with quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience.

“VOICE members are integral to ensuring the topics that matter most to our patients are not only heard, but fully embedded into decisions about future plans, enabling us to better develop our services.”

Recently, it has conducted patient surveys and supported the interview process for the trust’s new executive chief operating officer and director of workforce and communications.

Members of VOICE focus on all of the services that the trust runs including West Suffolk Hospital, Newmarket Community Hospital and Suffolk Community Services.

Meetings are held on a quarterly basis at West Suffolk Hospital over a weekday lunch and travel costs are reimbursed.
