Lauren takes on Thetford marathon to reach century milestone

A Thetford runner is set to take on her 100th marathon later this month.

She said: “You don’t think about it when you start out but now it is really exciting to think the next one is the big one.”

The Thetford parkrun participant took her first steps into marathon running in 2015 by completing the Enigma Quadzilla, which was a gruelling four marathons in four days.

The forest marathon is registered with the 100 Marathon Club, so when the Thetford Athletic Club member finishes she will be presented with a special medal and the 100 club’s famous blue and yellow shirt by another Thetfordian, marathon runner and parkrun director Melanie Sturman.

Lauren said: “I think when I cross the line, it will be quite emotional as I have always had ideas for things but never seen them through, but with this I feel I will have done what I set out to do.”
