Lakenheath lorry driver unhurt after four-vehicle crash on A1

A lorry driver from Lakenheath escaped injury following a four-vehicle crash on the A1 earlier today (Tuesday).

The incident happened at about 8am on the south-bound carriageway near the Alconbury slip-road. It involved two lorries, a van and a car.

The driver of the van, a man in his 30s from Peterborough, suffered serious injuries and is currently in a stable condition in Addenbrookes Hospital, in Cambridge.

The driver of the car, a woman in her 20s from Ramsey, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital.

The drivers of the two lorries, a man in his 40s from Sheffield and a man in his 50s from Lakenheath, were uninjured.

Anyone with information should call the Road Policing Unit on 101 quoting incident 53 of May 5.
