Jobs saved at building contractors

JOBS have been saved at a building contractors in Bury St Edmunds after a deal was secured by administrators.

Part of the MJN Colston Ltd business, which has an office in Olding Road, was sold to Integral Holdings UK Ltd.

The sale, reached by the firm’s joint administrators, has saved 47 jobs in Bury and Bristol.

However, a buyer was not found for the whole business resulting in 241 job losses.

Offices in Gateshead, Blackburn, Coventry, Exeter, Bridgend, Croydon and Thornaby will close together with certain contracting work managed from Bury and Bristol which was not acquired by Integral.

Daniel Butters and Matt Cowlishaw, partners at Deloitte, the business advisory firm, were appointed joint administrators to MJN Colston Ltd on February 23. Mr Butters said: “We are pleased to announce the sale of part of MJN Colston.”
