AN AUDIOLOGIST is preparing to return to Nepal to help improve the lives of people there living with hearing impairments.
Jemima Phillpot, of The Hearing Care Centre, which operates out of Mount Farm Surgery on Moreton Hall, will travel with charity International Nepal Fellowships, which undertakes medical camps across the poverty-strickened country.
As well as financing her own trip in November, she is expected to work on a voluntary basis and provide her own equipment.
Mrs Phillpot, who treated 1,023 patients and performed 150 operations on her last trip in 2007, said: “ Even though the trip was a huge challenge physically and emotionally, I decided immediately that I needed to go again.”
