Tuesday, March 5 – MARLENE VERPLANCK: (Oaklands Hotel, Norwich, 8.30, £10. Info: firstname.lastname@example.org) A genuine US jazz cabaret star makes her regular visit to Norwich, with a top-drawer trio comprising John Pearce (piano), Paul Morgan (bass) and Bobby Worth (drums).
Wednesday, March 6 – THE JAZZ JAM BAND: (Lakeside, Lyng, 8pm, £10. Bookings 01328 863511) The house band of the Norwich Jazz Jam (see Monday) get their own gig at Dereham Jazz Club to showcase their own considerable gifts. Featuring 83-year-old DJS founder Gerry Salisbury still going strong on cornet, along with Lee Vasey (guitar), Mark Jolly (violin), Ian Hireson (guitar), Paul ‘Buzz’ Clarke (trombone), Brendan Youngs (bass) and Matt Furness (drums).
