A WOMAN’S silent vigil has paid off after she raised nearly £700 for Help for Heroes.

Jayne Bullock raised £695.20 by keeping quiet for 12 hours at her local pub, The Priors, in Bury St Edmunds.

Jayne was prompted to carry out her sponsored silence after her partner Michael told he he would give her £100 to be quiet for 12 hours and she took up the challenge to raise money for Help for Heroes.

With plenty of support from friends and regulars, and some music from band Zoom, the event proved a good way to raise money for the charity.

Jayne who, along with friends, dressed in combat gear, said: “I would like to thank everyone for their support and sponsorship.”
