Two burglars, who were chased by one of their victims, have been jailed after admitting three offences.

Jason Parkinson, 21, of Bunbury Avenue, Mildenhall, and Andre McCall, 42, of Campbell Close, Mildenhall, were sentenced last week.

Ipswich Crown Court heard they stole a garden strimmer, a wallet and power tools from three homes between 4am and 7am on September 23 last year.

The owner of the power tools gave chase and took back some items.

Parkinson and McCall were arrested shortly after - having targeted two homes in Miles Hawk Way and one in Melbourne Drive, Mildenhall.

Parkinson later admitted three further burglary offences, two thefts from vehicles and the theft of a pedal cycle. A warrant was issued after he missed a court date on December 10, but after handing himself in, he was jailed for two years on January 16.

At the same sitting, McCall was jailed for 45 months.

Duncan Etchells, of Suffolk Constabulary, said: "House burglary is an intrusive crime that can have devastating effects."
