Bury St Edmunds councillor to be investigated over social media posts

A council has launched an investigation following complaints about a Bury St Edmunds councillor's social media posts.

West Suffolk Council has received complaints about posts by Conservative Cllr Frank Warby, who represents Moreton Hall.

A spokesman said the matter was 'now the subject of an official standards complaint' and the authority will be carrying out an investigation.

They added: "While we go through this official process it would be wrong of us to comment further.

"However, the council does have strict equality guidelines which sets out how we believe that all people are entitled to be treated with dignity and respect.

"We are committed to working with our partners and communities to promote good relations and to combat prejudice, discrimination and harassment.”

The Bury Free Press contacted Cllr Warby, who denied any wrongdoing.
