A group of four or five men pushed their way past an elderly resident to enter their home in Bury St Edmunds.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the back door of the property in Hervey Road was forced open yesterday, Monday March 7, at around 8.10pm.
After barging past the victim and searching all the rooms the intruders left.
It is not yet known whether anything was stolen.
Later than night, at around 9.30pm, occupants of a house in Falmouth Avenue, Newmarket, disturbed two burglars on the upstairs landing.
After being spotted the men immediately left the house and the residents called the police.
As with the first burglary, it is not yet known whether anything was stolen.
Detectives are linking these two incidents. In both cases the suspects are described as wearing scarves across their faces and were wearing dark clothing and hats.
