Inquest opens into Worlington car crash

An inquest has today been opened into the death of four people in a crash at Worlington, near Mildenhall.

The two car collision happened on the B1102 Freckenham Road on July 17 at about 8.15pm.

Opening the inquest at Bury St Edmunds, Deputy Suffolk Coroner Yvone Blake said post mortem examinations had confirmed that all four victims died as a result of multiple injuries.

Those who died were Matthew Grant, 24, of Churchill Drive, Mildenhall, and Christopher Merchant, 28, of Folly Road, Mildenhall, who were travelling in a BMW and husband and wife William Dyal, 77, and Helen Dyal, 75. from Main Street, Prickwillow, who were in a a Hyundai.

The deputy coroner adjourned the hearing until next month to allow the completion of enquiries.
