Inquest opens into death of Thetford woman

An inquest has opened into the death of a woman from Thetford.

May Bowden, 93, was admitted to West Suffolk Hospital after a believed fall at her Thetford home.

She died in hospital on August 26, the inquest at Bury St Edmunds heard today.

Ms Bowden’s cause of death was given as functional decline/frailty of old age and a bleed on the brain (subdural haematoma).

Assistant coroner Dr Dan Sharpstone adjourned the hearing for further inquiries.
