A beauty therapist at Center Parcs at Elveden was killed when the car she was driving was struck from behind by another vehicle, an inquest has heard.

Lauren Danks, 22, was declared dead at the scene of the crash on the A11 dual carriageway near Red Lodge on November 11.

Today (Monday) at the Active Business Centre, in Bury St Edmunds, an inquest into her death was formally opened by Assistant Suffolk Coroner Dr Daniel Sharpstone.

The hearing was told that Miss Danks’ Citroen car was struck from behind, forcing it over a crash barrier before it struck a road sign.

Miss Danks, who worked at Center Parcs, suffered fatal injuries, said Dr Sharpstone.

The inquest was adjourned to allow enquiries to be completed.

Following the collision, a 63-year-old man from the Brandon area was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, drink driving, and failing to stop following a road traffic collision.

He was released on bail until Saturday, May 6.
