About 160 properties in Ingham were without water for about one-and-a-half hours at lunchtime today after a 7in water main burst.

Anglian Water said the burst in Flempton Road was first reported to it just before noon but by routing water to the village through other pipes they were able to get premises back on by 1.30pm.

A spokesman said: “We apologise for any inconvenience it caused people.”

The Cadogan pub in the centre of the village tweeted that it was still open in spite of the lack of water.

Roxanne Marjoram, of The Cadogan’s owners Gusto Pronto, said: “We stayed open but had to tell customers we had no water. It was inconvenient.”
