Pupils from Priory School helped themselves to a little more independence when they took part in a scheme which was just the ticket for getting out and about.

Students aged between 14 and 16 joined Try a Bus Day where they practised skills needed to travel by bus, such as hailing a bus, buying a ticket and getting the driver to stop.

Headteacher Lawrence Chapman said: “Some youngsters don’t have the confidence in talking to new people and this helped them gain that confidence.”
