Illegal DIY signs put up on Bury St Edmunds roundabout

Illegal signs have been directing unsuspecting motorists to the A134 and Haverhill - away from the Hardwick Lane ‘cut-through’ in Bury St Edmunds

A spokesman for Suffolk County Council said the signs - in Cullum Road - were not official highways signs and would be removed and replaced with a professional one - at a cost of £100.

“We must remind people that putting DIY signs on the highway can be dangerous and is actually illegal,” he said.

Anyone encountering issues with current signage on the highway should call 03456 066171.
