VILLAGERS in Walsham-le-Willows are hoping Ian Toulson’s fund-raising 3,000 mile cycle ride will be flushed with success.
Theywaved him off on Tuesday on his Kumfy Karsy Kwest ride to raise money to pay for new toilets in the village hall.
Ian is a veteran of long-distance rides through Britain, France, America, Australia and the Irish and the North Sea coasts.
This ride started with a short trip to Harwich for the ferry to Holland where he will pick up the Rhine cycle route, to Lake Constance in the Swiss Alps.
From there he will go to the sorce of the Danube and cycle the river’s route to Budapest before crossing Slovakia into southern Poland to pick up the Vistula and follow it to its mouth at Gdansk on the Baltic. He will then follow the coast to Esjberg and catch the ferry back to Harwich and home for his 40th wedding anniversary.
