Hundreds of people form ‘human chain of hope’ in Bury St Edmunds town centre
Hundreds of people lined the streets of Bury St Edmunds town centre in a display of unity to mark The United Nations International Day of Peace.
About 200 people joined the attempt to form a ‘human chain of hope’ connecting the war memorials in Cornhill and on Angel Hill on Sunday.
Although there wasn’t enough people to complete the chain, organiser Clare Mellor said the positive messages she had received about the initiative was ‘fantastic’ - showing that ‘whatever the organisation, whatever the differences of opinion, we can all live together’.
