HRH Prince Edward to visit Banham Zoo this afternoon




HRH Prince Edward will visit Banham Zoo this afternoon to mark the zoo's 50 years of wildlife conservation.

He is set to tour the site, meet staff and learn about the five-year conservation pledge by the Zoological Society of East Anglia.

The Earl of Wessex will be met by ZSEA chief executive Professor David Field, dignitaries and staff before a tour of the zoo.

The prince is set to meet keepers, members of the maintenance team and volunteers, while children from Banham Primary School will meet Prince Edward on the giraffe platform to feed the zoo’s herd of giraffe.

The tour will conclude in the Amazing Animals! Theatre, where Prince Edward will attend a live educational animal presentation and witness the launch of ZSEA’s five-year pledge.

David Field, chief executive said: “Making this pledge in the presence of HRH Prince Edward gives us even more motivation to achieve this."
