Abbeygate Cinema to screen Bury St Edmunds-set The Personal History of David Copperfield in exclusive preview
Abbeygate Cinema in Bury St Edmunds is offering fans the chance to see Armando Iannucci's The Personal History of David Copperfield one week before its full release.
The Hatter Street venue has arranged with studio Lionsgate Films to screen the Charles Dickens adaption, which features scenes shot in Bury and stars Dev Patel, on Saturday, January 18, from 8pm - with doors opening at 7.30pm for a Prosecco reception.
Tilda Swinton, Hugh Laurie, Peter Capaldi, Ben Whishaw and Paul Whitehouse also star in the film, which will be in cinemas across the UK from Friday, January 24.
The special screening is in aid of Abbeygate's 2020 Building Blocks fundraising campaign - which is helping to raise funds for Phase Two of the building development, which will see two new auditoria built in the old Bingo Hall.
Tickets, costing £35, are reportedly selling out.
