Greater Anglia launch service which allows Bury St Edmunds passengers faster travel into London

A new train service has made it possible to travel between Bury St Edmunds and London in 89 minutes.

Greater Anglia has introduced four faster links a day, which offer passengers a journey from Ipswich to Liverpool Street in less than one hour for the first time.

Jo Churchill, who boarded the inaugural service this week, hailed its potential to cut down the time of commuting - which can take more than two hours from Bury St Edmunds.

But the Bury MP has also called for more of the trains and for them to run at times more convenient for London commuters.
