Holiday language courses to teach the basics at West Suffolk College

Holiday makers can get a handle on the local lingo before they travel in new courses run by West Suffolk College.

From next week a range of new language courses are being offered for travellers to learn essential phrases to help them on their holidays.

The six-week courses are being offered at the college and in local learning centres.

Yannick Limmer, coordinator for Modern Languages at West Suffolk College, said: “It seems as though everyone speaks English these days. However, when you get to your destination it could be a very different matter.

“You might get away with pointing and gesturing, but what if you really need to ask or explain something? Life would be much easier if you had attended a language class before you left.”

Holiday German and Holiday Italian start at West Suffolk College on Tuesday, April 14, with Holiday French starting on Thursday, April 16.

Holiday French classes start at Stowmarket Learning Centre on Wednesday, April 15.

There is also a five-week Holiday French class starting at Sudbury Learning Centre on Thursday, April 23.
