BUSINESSES across West Suffolk have been signing up for a scheme to turn £50 into mega bucks for St Nicholas Hospice Care.
The Towergate Accumulator Challenge was launched on Thursday and companies have three months to make their money grow.
Paul Whittaker, chief executive of sponsors Towergate Risk Solutions, in Bury St Edmunds, presented the cash to 40 companies who have signed up to support the work of the hospice.
So far, fund-raising plans include a mass conga by staff at Asda, a sponsored loop the loop on a bi-plane, plus cake sales and many other whacky and imaginative ways of raising cash.
Last year’s Accumulator Challenge raised more than £40,000 for the charity, after Towergate – which is also donating all the stake money – match-funded the total amount raised.
Firms taking part include Glasswells, Sheridans, the arc shopping centre, six branches of NatWest bank, ARCO and Asda.
