THE history of one of the country’s oldest recorded villages came to life for hundreds of visitors at a special event.
Weeting Open History Day was held on Sunday and saw archives, artefacts and documents showing the village’s heritage on display.
Robert Childerhouse, Breckland councillor for Weeting, said almost 300 had visited the displays.
“The day went very well and there was a lot on show that people wouldn’t have known about Weeting,” he said.
Photographs of Weeting Primary School classes from down the years were on show, with current pupils carrying out a project in the last month on its history.
The results of last year’s geophys survey on the village playing fields were on display. The results included the sites of the old parish church and Guildhall.
