Geewizz Charity Pumpkin Patch and Maize Maze returns to Hall Farm in Fornham St Martin
A pumpkin patch - thought to be the first 100 per cent for charity in the country - will return to the Bury St Edmunds area in October.
The Geewizz Charity Pumpkin Patch and Maize Maze at Hall Farm, in Fornham St Martin, raised £15,704 in its debut last year after attracting hundreds of families from across Suffolk.
This year visitors will have the chance to select their own pumpkins, navigate their way around the maze and take in panoramic views of the fields between Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 27 from 11am to 3.30pm daily.
Gina Long, founder of Geewizz, said: “We were overwhelmed by the support we received from the community at our pumpkin patch last year, which is why I’m delighted to announce its return.
“Choosing a pumpkin and enjoying the maize maze really is the perfect day out for all the family.
“We are so proud to be the first 100 per cent to charity pumpkin patch in the UK.”
To prepare for the event, 10,000 seeds donated by Tozer Seeds were planted at Hall Farm earlier this year.
Support from local and national companies ensures that all donations will go directly to the families and schools supported by the charity.
GeeWizz supports children and young adults in Suffolk and Norfolk who suffer from life-threatening conditions, a disability or cancer.
The charity funds life-changing equipment for the children and recent projects have included electric wheelchairs allowing them to move around independently, bespoke designed car seats and harnesses to keep children safe when travelling as well as various pieces of specialist equipment for special schools.
Gina added: “To have the community involved with changing local lives is simply wonderful.
“Every donation for every pumpkin will help change a life.”
Entry and parking are free with a small donation recommended for each pumpkin.
