Bury St Edmunds arc shopping centre to be transformed into silent disco venue

The arc shopping centre in Bury St Edmunds will have headphones at the ready when it hosts a silent disco for its 10th anniversary celebrations.

The free event on Saturday, July 27 from 2pm to 9pm will see shoppers grab a pair of headphones, pick their channel and choose a side as two DJs battle it out over separate wireless channels.

Traditional party games such as pass the parcel, musical statues and a dance off will run between 2pm to 4pm for younger guests, with prizes to be won.

There will be a cash bar under the tipi selling prosecco, gin and tonics, beers and a range of soft drinks.

Abbie Panks, centre manager, said: "What better way to celebrate than with a birthday party.

"Think giant tipis, party bags, party games, pop and prosecco.

"The silent disco is a perfect opportunity to come along and dance the day away with friends and family to playlists inspired by our Facebook followers."
