Organisers of Stowmarket Carnival appeal for help to plan 2019 event

The organisers of Stowmarket Carnival are appealing for help to plan this year's event.

Volunteers are needed to help the seven organisers plan, set up and run the carnival, which is due to take place on July 20 and 21 at the town's recreation ground.

Jayne Woods, carnival chairman, said: "Even if someone can give us just a couple of hours, that would be a great help.

"We'll be setting up on the 19th and taking everything down on the 22nd so if you're available between those times at all, we'd really appreciate it."

She added: "We're struggling this year for some reason. There's only seven of us in the committee and we work full time and have children.

"We're also on a tight budget and we just need some people to get in touch and give us a hand in whatever way they can."
