THETFORD children got out of the house and away from the X-Box for a day on Tuesday with a military-style training day.
Qualified PTIs (physical training instructors) from the armed forces were at Thetford Academy’s south campus to put children through their paces at the Combat Boot Camp.
The activities were aimed at ‘motivating and focusing the individual’, with physical training accompanied with a short talk on a career in the Navy, Army or police.
Darren Marsh, ex-sergeant major and Combat Boot Camp trainer, said: “The day camps are great fun and challenging.
“It is great entertainment for youngsters in the school holiday and much more beneficial to an individual’s health than spending the day sitting on computers and electronic games.”
