West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds has been named top hospital nationally for its quality of care.
The hospital was among six finalists in the Top Hospital Awards 2011 run by independent healthcare intelligence company CHKS.
The hospital was among six finalists and competed against hospitals including the Queen Elizabeth in Kings Lynn, the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital and the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
West Suffolk was rated for the length of time partients stay in hosppital, waiting times, and rate of emergency readmissions as well as mortality rates.
The award was presented last night in London.
