Staff at the Bannatyne Health Club and Spa in Horringer ‘went all out’ during a week-long charity fund-raiser.

They sported pink hair and clothes, sold pink cupcakes and cocktails and hosted plank and treadmill challenges as well as a 1960s-themed disco spin class and raffle.

Their efforts raised £2,560 for the Look Good Feel Better cancer charity, more than any of the Bannatyne Group’s 66 other health clubs nationwide whose June 5-11 events helped raise a combined total of £42,000.

Organiser Julie Key, the club’s sales and reception manager, said ‘it was such good fun’ and she was ‘really proud’ of everyone involved.

She gave special praise for ‘Mikey’, a professional kickboxer who helps out on reception, who showed his support for the charity by donning pink tights, headband and tutu.
