Hawstead businesses, residents and parish council have worked together to secure funding for a defibrillator for the village.

Located on the outside wall of the village hall, on the road between Nowton and Lawshall, the life-saving device was officially launched last month, with Patrick Peal, chief executive of the East Anglian Air Ambulance, invited to cut the ceremonial ribbon.

Representatives from Community Heartbeat Trust and East of England Ambulance Service also attended.

Anyone wanting to learn how to use the defibrillator is invited to attend a training session at the village hall at 7.30pm on June 18.
