A HAVEBURY tenant has been offered replacement plants after a garden he has cultivated for four years was cut by Havebury contractors.
Nick Proctor, 43, of the Vinefields, Bury St Edmunds, ‘was in tears all day’ Wednesday after finding his plants ‘attacked’ by strimmers.
Karen Mayhew, Havebury Housing’s chief executive, said: “We are extremely sorry for the upset and distress caused by our grounds maintenance contractor.
“Mr Proctor had an informal agreement with us to cultivate an area of our land near his home. Unfortunately, there was a lack of communication with new operatives resulting in this area being cut.”
