Hardactors are releasing a new EP celebrating the music of 1980s band Talk Talk.
The solo act, also known as indie-pop songwriter Joe Bailey from West Suffolk, played a special gig in London on November 25 with former band member Alfie Waike-Pawsey, in tribute to the English new wave group.
The music Joe developed for the set was such a success he has decided to release it as a special three-track EP.
“With the Talk Talk gig naturally we did some covers, “he said.
“I am a big fan of Talk Talk anyway so it was brilliant going to do this gig.
“It was great and we were chuffed to be there.
“We had done some experimenting and came up with these three songs and we just found when we played them through they became Hardactors songs.
“So we sort of came up with this idea if pushing all the stuff we had been working on back and finishing off these recordings.”
Hardactors release It’s My Life on March 25.
The cover art for Hardactors’ new EP comes from James Marsh – the man behind Talk Talk’s original album covers.
Joe met James through Hardactors producer Ian, who used to play keyboard in the 1980s pop band.
Joe said: “It has come together very nicely. James was at the London gig so we walked over and talked to him.
“I asked him if he had anything he could supply for our new EP. “The next morning he came up with the piece we have now. It made my day.”
