Staff and children at Guildhall Feoffment Pre-school and Nursery are feeling spoilt because their new home is so spacious.
They moved from Guildhall Feoffment School to the former Suffolk County Archeological Service’s office at Ford House in Shire Hall Way, Bury St Edmunds, which the county council converted to a purpose built nursery, and was officially opened last Friday.
Its manager Tracy Bucher said: “It has big, airy rooms with full length windows looking out to the stream that runs beside the Abbey Gardens.
“We have two big play areas now, giving us much more space than we had at the school, so now we feel spoilt.”
At the school, in Bridewell Lane, it was only a pre-school, open during term time from 9am to 3pm, but now it is a nursery as well, it is open 8am to 6pm all year round except Christmas week.
It has already filled its 40 places from their waiting list but is taking registrations for September.
