CONTROVERSIAL plans to build 17 new homes in Badwell Ash have been given the go-ahead by planning officials.
The application was discussed at a planning committee meeting held by Mid Suffolk District Council on Wednesday.
Officials gave the plans the green light despite having received a petition and numerous letters objecting to the proposal.
The application, including five affordable homes and 12 three, four and five bedroom houses, will be built at the former R&D construction depot site. The proposals were approved subject to a satisfactory Section 106 agreement and subject to a number of conditions.
The plans also include car parking and a new access road for the site.
