A FUND-RAISING event in Woolpit church has raised £440 for the John Hardiman Music for Youth Fund.
The evening, called Church Going FOLK ,featured a range of folk music by players of all ages.
John Hardiman, who lived in Woolpit, was just 30 when he died and had been a talented musician and a former Royal Marine.
His family wanted to keep his memory alive and also provide something positive for other young musicians.
The fund will help young musicians develop their talents.
One, 14-year-old Tilly Dalgleish, travelled back to take part from Snape Maltings where she was on a residential course. Eight acts were featured at the evening organised by David Scotford.
Mr Scotford said: “The music was fantastic and appreciated by everyone. It had a nice community feel to it.”
