A golfer who spent his charity year raising funds for West Suffolk Hospital’s Macmillan Unit has raised £9,000.
Brian Chadwick, of Thetford, chose to support the hospital as a thank you for staff who cared for his wife, Susan.
The majority of the money came from Brian’s charity day as captain where £6,200 was raised - boosted by a four ball competition with 168 entries.
Mr Chadwick said: “Susan and I wanted to do something for the hospital and I would like to thank everyone who helped raise this fantastic sum. This was obviously very personal for my wife and I, but I think it also struck a chord with many people at the club.
“A lot of members have used West Suffolk Hospital and from our point of view, I can’t really say enough about the care and support we received.”
The money will be spent on Parker Knoll chairs for patients at the Macmillan Unit.
