Businesses and organisations are being invited to sign up for this year’s It’s A Bury Knockout event at Hardwick Heath this summer.
The July 14 event will raise funds for the specialist scope which will help diagnose prostate cancer and which the Bury Free Press has adopted as its Beat It fund-raising campaign this year.
The Hospital needs to raise £59,000 for the ultrasound machine called a TRUS - trans rectal ultrasound and biopsy.
Teams of between 10 and 12 people are now being invited to sign up for the fun day which involves some friendly competition. Teams are asked to raise a minimum of £500 to secure a place and need to raise half their sponsorship by May 1.
The fun will include obstacle courses, a knockout derby and soapy slide as well as fairground rides, bouncy castle and stalls.
UK Power Networks has already entered two teams and is raising money through a series of events including a special breakfast for staff and the teams, High Voltage and The Megawatts, are planning some electrifying action on the day.
Jan Bloomfield, executive director of workforce and communications at West Suffolk Hospital, said: “We want to make this year’s event even bigger and better and want to hear from as many local teams as possible.”
