Bury St Edmunds company Genesis Landscapes has made it to the final of the prestigious National Marshalls Awards next Monday.

Marshalls is the UK’s leading hard landscaping manufacturer and set up the awards to give contractors the chance to showcase their work.

Mike Long, managing director at Genesis, won the regional round in December, taking the Best Engineering Achievement and Best Patio Over 35m2 awards in East Anglia for a Cambridge garden.

He, and his team, saw off competition from 600 projects nationally and are now one of 17 finalists hoping to win across 11 categories.

He said: “Having this level of recognition for our work means so much to us. Our Cambridge project is a great example of what we do best as a company and it’s an achievement to have made it this far.”

The icing on Genesis’ cake would be to win ‘Marshalls Contractor of the Year 2014’.
